Here is my current curriculum vitæ.

Academical

I obtained a Master’s degree in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from ETH Zürich and a Bachelor of Science at Amsterdam University College.

I’m currently a Ph.D. student at the Machine Learning and Systems Biology Department supervised by Prof. Dr. Karsten Borgwardt. I also worked briefly at the Machine Learning and Computational Biology Department at ETH Zürich before going to the MPI.

Personal

I used to sail a lot, competing in national and international competitions, predominantly in the Laser, a single-handed, one-design Olympic sailing dinghy. I’ve also been invited to crew or helm a number of other boats, including the J70, Class40 and many other sports sailing boats.

As a certified sailing instructor and coach, I have worked in numerous sailing clubs for a few months during the summer, including at the Yacht Club Grenobles Charavines, and the notorious Association Sportive et Nautique de Quiberon. I have also set up a coached a team at the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeil- en Roei Vereeniging (English: The Royal Netherlands Yacht Club) where I coached 14-18 year olds in various national and international competitions.

Besides, I learned to play the cello for 10 years at a music conservatory in France. Since moving to Switzerland, I have predominantly been hiking on weekends, leveraging the fantastic Swiss rail network to its fullest potential.

Miscellaneous

I try to use emacs for most things. My configuration can be found here.
